A section of Long Island is a terrazzo map.

This is a section of a giant map made of terrazzo, from the 1964/65 World's Fair, in the New York Pavilion. I was lucky to see this: it wasn't breaking and entering, nor was it a planned tour. Just luck. If you're a fan of They Might Be Giants, and know their early video Don't Let's Start, you'll remember that it all happens here. It's not in great shape, to put it mildly — I was cautioned to tread lightly — but it looked as if there are efforts to take care of it. | Filed in Queens.
