Hudson Avenue (Vinegar Hill). Vinegar Hill may be one of the tiniest sections of Brooklyn, maybe eight square blocks? It's in between "DUMBO," the area "Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass" and the Brooklyn Navy Yards. In a thimble with little competition for "Main Street," Hudson Avenue may be it. The neighborhood's name was a marketing ploy, designed to draw Irish immigrants who might have felt fond recollections of a battle fought on the old sod. | Brooklyn, New York. | Filed in Brooklyn.
