A row of houses on a dead end lane have exposed brick, and the architecture indicative of having once been stables.

This is Hunts Lane, in Brooklyn Heights. During Open House New York a few weeks ago, I soloed on an afternoon and had the freedom to take side trips between one destination and the next. This lane reminded me of a fairly famous quote of Samuel Johnson's, on how you can't really know London without knowing little lanes like this. Larger here. Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn.
