Water has settled in a street, with empty lots and abandoned buildings.

Ruby Street. City Line, Brooklyn. The neighborhood is called "City Line" because before Brooklyn was part of New York City, the city line between Brooklyn and Queens was about a block east of here. This area is part of a below grade section called "The Hole," straddling the line between the two boroughs. (The Queens neighborhood on the otherside of the border is Lindenwood. For more on "The Hole," read Nathan Kensinger's fascinating write-up, with more pictures.)
