This is Franklin Place. To call Franklin Place a "Place," these days, stretches the concept of what a "Place" should be. By all appearances it's nothing more than an alley. But when the Dutch were here, Franklin Place was a quiet residential block where housewives bleached their stoops and cows wandered free; people shared pleasantries on their way to church.
