A plaza with people, water fountains, and sculptures.

Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn.

This year Grand Army Plaza became much more friendly for pedestrians. When we moved here 20 years ago, it was difficult to walk through its diameter without being either very patient or playing Frogger. But now they've extended sidewalk corners to shorten the amount of road you have to cross, and provided some very well placed stopping points. Pedestrians have all sorts of choices in their routes. Very cool.
