This is the Prison Ships Martyrs' Memorial. Over 11,000 American Revolutionary soldiers died on British prison ships in nearby Wallabout Bay; their bodies were thrown into the bay, and some of their remains lie in a crypt below this monument in Fort Greene Park. Fort Greene, Brooklyn.
