I think it's remarkable that real estate has become so precious, even in Brooklyn, that highrise apartment buildings are being built right next to a superfund site like the Gowanus Canal. I have a lot of thoughts about a project like the one you see here. Selfishly, I miss the "easy pickings" location for photographs of urban decay. I also like the "in your face" to Bloomberg, who feared that declaring the Gowanus Canal a superfund site would inhibit real estate.
